NY Criminal Court
The NY Criminal Court has jurisdiction over a wide array of criminal matters. The court handles everything from a misdemeanor to a felony this includes everything after the arrest which begins at the Arraignment It includes arraignments on Desk Appearance tickets all types of felonies and misdemeanors and the range of cases include everything from a DWI (driving while intoxicated), to cases involving White Collar Crime and it extends to even a sex crime such as Possession of child Pornography. The Criminal Court will handle felonies up to indictment; cases are then forwarded to the Supreme Court or County Court.
